I tried that before I asked the question. I doesn't change anything, when I bought it, it was fine, then after I setup the tow options, and went back to the trip display, it was fine, until I turned it off. Then the next time I started it, it went back to the tow display for my trailer...

You have to select "No Active Trailer" inder the trailer options.

I deleted the trailers and now it all works like it used to. I suspect that I caused this by accidentally pushing the towing button

Great Tip! Thank You! I have had this problem for 6 months, ever since I set up a trailer. Ford Service didn’t know how to fix it. Tried complete software reload to no avail. I just went int trailer setup where I found the No trailer selection. Works fine now.

That worked great for me. I select "no active trailer" on the console and then set the display to want I wanted to see on startup. Thanks

I had the same issue. I noticed Tow/haul light was on. Turned off tow mode and that fixed it

I found that on my 2017 the tow connector on the bumper will not show any issues but will cause all kinds of issues. No cruise control, instrument cluster selector not working properly, tow/no tow options, even transmission shift issues. As soon as I replaced the trailer connection module is was all fixed.
