CPS or wet sensor?

Asked by farmtree87 Dec 04, 2014 at 02:32 PM about the 2001 Ford Escort 2 Dr ZX2 Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

OK i have a 2001 ford escort zx2 that shredded the belt and put a hole in the lower radiator line. My girl dint know and drove the car 7 miles home. i got it all put back right and she got 2 miles till it shut off on her. turns out she put anti freeze in the over but not the radiator. i put water in and she got it home again but the temp never got off cold after listening to it for 10 mins. i pulled and replaced the thermostat, started it up and the thermostat housing leaked. pulled it apart again and left the cam pos senor off when i tried it by accident and now it turns over hard and will not start even though I hooked the CPS back up. Any thoughts?

Clear codes and make sure the battery is fully charged. Jump it off if you have to but see if it turns over any faster and runs. If it doesn't with a fully charged battery then you may have engine problems or blown head gasket.
