My 1997 GMC Jimmy wont crank, no electricity, key stuck in ignition. Please help!

I have had a 1997 GMC Jimmy for about a year. It has run well, but just yesterday morning i went to
start the truck, it did not start. What happened was the dashboard lights lit up for a moment, and
the engine started to crank, but it all died within a second. Now the engine wont turn, the dashboard
wont light up, and the key is stuck in the ignition. I took the battery to a service center, its fine.
What I can make out from the info I have read is that it is probably the starter or ignition, or perhaps
an electrical wiring issue, so what is most likely my problem? Thanks in advance.

Well the thing is I tried to jump start it, Trickle charge it, and when those did not work i took the battery to a service center. They tested it and, its fine. Any other ideas? Thank you.

I have a 1997 gmc jimmy and the fusible link wire's on the fire wall is broke and the fuel pump not running the headlights Windows and radio not working and won't start so can somebody tell me what's wrong thanks

What was wrong with it did u ever find out i have a 2001 jimmy gmc it won't crank just shut down on me while i was driving it no power at all my Windows wont let up no sound key stuck in ignition new battery starter n alternator whats wrong with it i really need my car can u help plz 4692858864 or 2143098173 im keykey or ask for Fred

Good morning your problem sounds like electrical you might want to check the wires going from the ignition to the fuse box it could be that's it's old. Also check the ground from the battery what I did was add another cable from the battery to the chassis because my lights would dim and the battery level would go down. But sounds like your not getting enough power good luck
