do you have to take the 4 wheel drive of to repair the brakes on a 98 yukon

Asked by MBP Nov 05, 2013 at 02:33 PM about the 1998 GMC Yukon SLE 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I am trying to get the brakes repaired in my 98 Yukon, they are saying you have to
take the 4wheel drive off and it will be much more expensive.  Is this true? Do you
have to take off the 4wheel drive to repair the brakes, probably pads, discs and
rotors.. I don't know?  Please help I don't want to get taken advantage of with this
I love my Yukon and want to keep driving it.

If by repaired you mean brake pads, calipers or rotors. it has nothing to do with the 4WD. Its a basic truck disk brake setup

Brake lines needs replaced . They rot from inside and act as a check valve allowing one way travel
