Top speed

Asked by Mark Mar 12, 2016 at 09:11 PM about the 2015 Subaru Outback 3.6R Limited

Question type: General

Have you noticed that Subaru Outback 2.5 and 3.6 have relatively high top end
speeds,   despite the fact that they're not usually the fastest car in their class
for normal acceleration to 60 or 80 mph.   But,  with a top speed of 123 to 142,
they're certainly capable of going at higher speeds than most other vehicles,
NOT that this is an appropriate thing to do.   Getting cited at speeds above 100
mph is a serious problem,  and you could lose your driver's license.

Well, I found this online. They both have pretty high top end speeds, but, the CVT transmission has an advantage, with 6 forward speeds compared to only four. "The 2010 Subaru Outback is also very safe as it has been chosen as a “Best Pick” by the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety. The interior of the new 2010 Outback is also a real step up for Subaru as a company. It is full of lovely organic shapes and all of the materials feel durable without being too utilitarian in appearance. Now if Subaru could just put this interior in the drab Forester.". Compare this with the 2009 Subaru Outback, http://www.thecarconnection.com/news/1019796_2009-subaru- outback-2-5i-modest-power-magnificent-details Finally, the IIHS safety rating of the 2009 is NOT as good as the previous iteration of vehicles. Sorry.
