I'm installing a new radio into my 1998 Jimmy and I bought the wire harness adapter but the oem wire harness has a blue wire as the accessory wire is that normal?

The blue wire customarily carries a low voltage current that triggers amps and other components to turn on and off. So to answer your question, yes that is normal.

Ok so your saying that's the remote wire and there should be another 12 volt accessory wire that's not hooked to the oem wire harness?? I just don't want to mess anything up doing this myself.

This site has saved me many times, anything you could ever need to know is here. Well as long as it concerns automotive electrical and custom installs. http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/stereodetail/9 85.html
