Won't start

Asked by Mar 30, 2017 at 04:21 PM about the 2015 Chevrolet Equinox LT1

Question type: General

Lately I have had to jump start my 2015 equinox.
At first I thought it was a battery problem. Towed it
to dealer. They checked everything out. Battery
was fine, charging and everything.  Next week
same thing, car wouldn't start. I'll be sitting in car
listening to radio with acc on and everything would
go dead. When I jump car off it runs fine for several
days and happens again. Jump it and back to
normal.
Through trial and error I figured it might be radio?
It sort of warns me when it's about to happen. The
sound will cut out but the screen is still lit. Ten
seconds later everything dies.
Today it didn't die. I guess I caught it in time but
it cleared all my favorite settings on the radio.
This is my fourth equinox. I love the car. I've had
to buy a portable jump starter and keep in car just
in case.
My car is my man cave. I sit in it and listen to
radio and make phone calls.
I know it's got to be something simple that
causes.
I need a solution in the worse way! Don't really
know where to turn?

How long is the radio on and see if the headlights are on at the same time, you may need to turn them off. If lights are not coming on when you're listening to the radio, look for other accessories that might be turning on while you're listening to the radio. If everything checks out good, take the car to your local auto parts store to check out battery and charging system again

Also check battery cables for corrosion and to make sure the're tight

I've had the car at the dealer. They said battery is fine. I believe it was charging at more than 13 volts. Since having this problem I start car up about every 15 minutes when listening to radio.
