Fuel filter

I can’t find my fuel filter, is it possibly inside the ga
tank? It’s a 1971 gmc vandura G2500. I’ve followed
my fuel line from the tank all the way to the pump
and then to the carb. Nothing but fuel line, no filter
canister.

Note the picture. Did you check the inlet housing on the carb where the fuel line goes?
