Cannot read speedometer on my brand newSubaru Forester during daylight hours because it is not illuminated during this time.Dealer basically says I have to live with it.is there anything I can do?It's a real safety issue.

Asked by Sinead06 Aug 13, 2015 at 01:22 PM about the 2015 Subaru Forester 2.5i

Question type: General

There is no illumination on speedometer of my new Subaru Forester (2015), during the
daylight hours. I often cannot determine how fast I am going. I have all controls on as
high as they will go.
Dealer says that's how car is designed. Nothing they can do about it.
It's a real safety issue. Don't know how I missed it during test drive, unless demo was an
upscale model and had premium illumination. Any recourse or help?

Nope if that the way the car was designed then that the way it is.

Adjust the interior light brightness which also adjusts the instrument lighting and the mileage display brightness. There is a wheel you rotate to the left of the steering wheel.
