How can I have so many paint chips on my car?
I have a 2015 Mazda CX5 Soul Red. I have quite a few paint chips, all the way
down to the metal. I keep my car washed, waxed and garaged. Do I have
Rock chips on the front of the car?
If it’s that bad then the only thing you can do is get it sanded and repainted, try not to drive it until the paint has cured then install clear protection film, now this won’t eliminate the rock chips but it will help reduce them. And try not to follow too close to the vehicle in front of you as that vehicle can and will kick up rocks, sand and other stuff that damages paint.
Stop following other cars and trucks so closely!
My wife has a 2016 CX-5 and she loves it; I think it's one of the best cars made. But there's a history of problems with the Soul Red paint; just check out the many threads about this on this site. Discuss this with a Mazda dealer. People who reported this early in the car's life got help form Mazda. But as the car's five years old, don't expect Mazda to fix this. There are ways to spot paint the chips and you should have a paint shop look at this. If the damage is widespread, the shop can do panel painting; so you don't have to get the entire car repainted.
