89 cherokee engine swap

I am trying to find an engine that will fit into the 89 Jeep
Cherokee automatic I have checked the local junkyards the
closest model I can find is a 2001. I'm trying to keep the
budget under 500 if I can help it I have a mechanic that is
willng to do the work for free.

How close are you to Fallon Nevada I have one I can part with for 400.00 it's from an 89
