08 chevy Silverado, truck won't move

Asked by Hamil95 Apr 02, 2017 at 12:18 PM about the 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LS Extended Cab LB RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Being stupid on my way home from work going
about 80 and hit a small rail road. When I hit the rail
road I heard a loud bang and rolled to a stop. Hit
the gas and truck won't move in any gear or in 4wd.
Revs up fine, feels like it goes into gear fine but it's
just not moving and won't even try to move at all.
Help!!

Sounds like when you hit the RR tracks something came up and knocked a hole into the trany pan, or pierced a trany line, so all the fluid drained out of the transmission. Just have to look where the leak is and fix it. Then fill it back up with trany fluid.

But I didn't see any fluid on the ground when I looked underneath. But did look wet on back differential
