Pull the key out of the silver end of the key fob. Look closely where it came out and you will see a cut out where you can use the key to pry open the key fob. See the battery? Gently slap the key fob against your opposite palm, and the battery should pop out. If you try to pry the battery out, you can damage the little electronic parts. Be gentle.

the number on the battery (2032) must face down, it is possible you have it in the fob upside down

I replaced the entire key fob with a locksmith after being stranded at a gas station for 4 hours only for the car to still not start its the car not the fob. Doors lock and unlock but the car will not start

Got a start button? You can press the start button with the key fob to start the car. A wrecker driver showed me that when the battery died in my fob and I couldn't start the car. It worked like a charm. I then replaced the battery in the key fob. A few weeks later, my car wouldn't start at all. I got the key fob not detected message. Turns out it was the battery of the car. Twice I took it in for testing (Walmart and the dealer). Both places told me the battery was good. It wasn't. I don't know why they wouldn't try to sell me a battery. As soon as I replaced the car battery, it starts every time. And, I don't get the key fob not detected message any more. The shop said that the low car battery was sending signals to the electronics board that resulted in the key fob message being given. It's all greek to me, but that's what happened.

Just happened to me yesterday, replaced the battery no luck, had to get it towed to my dealership & found out that the computer that detects the key has gone bad, this may be a recall and i have reported to car safety! Best of luck.

I just tried this and it worked...it’s the battery in the key...all I did was press the battery and prong things down and put the face back on and my car crank right up
