Why does my 4.3 v6 crank several times before starting up after sitting 30+ minutes?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2000 GMC Jimmy with the 4.3 v6
and on a cold start it fires up but after
driving it and and it sit 25-30 minutes it
cranks several times before firing up, I've
replaced the fuel pressure regulator, fuel
filter, and fuel pump. I'm honestly stumped
on this one. What could be the problem?

Check the fuel lines for routing and shielding problems, sometimes the plastic mounts break and allow the lines to,get to close to a heat source and that can cause fuel purculation during a hot soak time period, if concerned you can wrap the fuel lines with heat shield wrap, you also may want to do a live data scan just too see if all the sensors are within specs, if a sensor is out of calabration it could cause a leaning out of the fuel mixture so the engine is not getting enough to refire after setting.
