2000 Gmc Jimmy - electrical - won't start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Have a 2000 GMC Jimmy. I took apart and replaced a bent exhaust
valve and push rod on cylinder 4. Put everything back together and it
started up. Noticed a bit of popping around the exhaust manifold where
I had worked and saw that the gaskets weren't on right so corrected
them. In the process of doing this to keep from pulling the manifold
totally off I tried to pry away from underneath the exhaust manifold
from the engine block. The pry bar I used came into contact with the
starter solinoid contacts which caused some sparking. While in contact
with the solinoid I also came into contact with the exhaust manifold
and possibly things close by. Unsure how long but in the ball park of
about 5 seconds or less. Now even though the car cranks, it will not
start. I also noticed when disconnecting and reconnecting the battery,
the sound of things powering up no longer happens - I used to hear a
number of different sounds upon hooking up the battery. Battery is
charged and checked to be good, though even in its less than charged
state prior to this it managed to start. No fuses seem to be blown but
not sure about any damaged relays. The interior lights and dash panel
come on. The fuel pump comes when ignition is on. Trying to figure out
if the starter solinoid electrical wire runs to other parts of the vehicle to
where even though the starter seems to work, the electrical current for
other systems aren't getting the power they need. Or could the arcing to
the exhaust manifold cause damage to some other electrical
components? I appreciate any insight into this matter. Thank you.

Turns out I had pulled on the wiring harness too much on the side I was working and severed one of the 3 wires that make up the plug of the crankshaft position sensor. I soldered it together and it started right up.
