Should I purchase a used 2002 Yukon SLT with high miles?

If you're on a tight budget and can't afford to deal with major repairs, then stay away from high-mileage vehicles. Engine and transmission trouble can easily run into thousands of dollars. I generally regard high-mileage vehicles (those pushing the 150,000 miles plus mark) as "mechanic's specials," meaning you better be a mechanic or know a good one before buying it). If you really want low-cost, reliable transportation, look into leasing a budget/compact car. I've seen em lease for as little as $88/month with a couple thousand down. Most people laugh at that sort of deal but it's better than wasting money on a potential money pit.

I have a 2001 Yukon slt 4×4 and it has 312,000 miles on it and I can't complain one bit. The only thing if you live in the salt belt the brake lines will definitely go bad. I have done just regular maintenance to my vehicle and few little things like a coil pack went bad and the power steering pump but other than that I couldn't ask for a better vehicle. It's a tank it will go thru about any snow you throw at it. I live in Pa and the snow storm we got a year or two ago we had around 30in and I went out in it and never got stuck the people that was with me couldn't believe how good it was doing.
