How do I tie the front of my kayak to the front of my Subaru Crosstrek.  U shaped tows are not present.  The new screw-in tow can't be used when driving as it interferes with deployment  of  air bags.  entire front is plastic, with a 3 foot plastic sheet covering the front underside.

The bumper is plastic. But I found a solution. Thule Hood Loop Strap for $10. The strap uses a bolt present under the hood to attach the strap to metal under the hood. The loop strap sticks out on the side of the hood. see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htsyubu8EHc
