I am buying a used truck. Is there any downside to buying a truck with a flexfuel engine
Are they more complicated causing increased maintenance costs or less fuel efficient than a straight gasoline engine.
They just have the E85 control systems added on but essentially they have the same stuff as a straight E10 engines. Efficiency is the same until it is running the E85 mix then efficiency goes out the window.
No problem with the purchase of the vehicle. Just remember your MPG's using E85 will be about 25 percent less than E10. So unless the E85 is 25 percent lower in price than E10, use E10
