My envoy a couple weeks ago started chugging
and sounding like it was going to die when idoling
but goes no problem and stopped chugging when I
excelerated.  It also doesn’t seem to want to blow
any heat from the front vents and mostly just cold
from the rear which still seems to blow a full force, if
I hit the highway as I excelerate my heat eventually
turns on but even with it turned up all the way it
barely blows at half the force it usually does but
then it sounds like the motor for the fan won’t shut
off when I shut my car off and it’s actually killed my
battery a couple times now. The chugging stopped
a couple days ago (still having the heat issues) but
now I’m noticing that I’m going through an absurd
amount of gas, like a quarter tank to go to the store
and back which is about 5 km each way and there’s
a strong gasoline smell whenever I get out of my
vehicle. Nothing has happened to my vehicle (I’m
the only one that drives it) and I haven’t had to have
any repairs done for this all to come about so
abruptly....... anyone have any ideas what could be
causing all this?

find the gas leak and you'll probably find the chugging problem , when you say "no heat " do you mean the air is cold or the blower is weak ? You'll need to test the blower circuits to see if it's the switch , resistor pack or the motor or what ever wiring is killing your batt.

Hello Melinda, you have a few problems here and they all started from 1. If you have manual HVAC controls, your blower motor resistor is shot. If you have the automatic controls, it's called the blower speed control module. Located on the bottom of the blower motor behind the glove box, pretty easy fix. Then there's the problem of your heat/air, when the battery was jumped after it went dead, it blew your actuators which control both heat/cold, along with air flow, pretty common and a pita to replace. Lastly, the chugging. The chugging probably started after your battery was jumped or replaced. To fix the chugging and gas mileage, disconnect fuse # 10 and #28 under the hood. Then remove the throttle body and clean it with sensor safe spray like Seafoam. Biggest thing here are the darn actuators, design flaw.
