Adding Spare w/TPM to G3 Mini Cooper S

Asked by GuruZ1WPD Nov 07, 2017 at 04:41 PM about the 2014 MINI Cooper S Hatchback FWD

Question type: General

I replaced my run flats, yea!, with regular tires.  Bought a matching wheel for spare with one of the good run flats.  Can I have a TPM on this spare or will the G3 computer get confused?  Any thoughts on using run flat, same tire size as regular tires, as a spare?

So this post is for my Cooper Hardtop S. It is a F56 Gen3 model just for clarification. Comments from folks at tire place, and they seemed to know their stuff, was not to do a spare TPM. The car did have a spare tire option, it won't handle the fifth wheel ... most likely.
