5th wheel towing

Your truck doesn't have the power to pull a 5th wheel uphill, which is something you should consider. You will end up on steep grade sooner or later and you don't want put a strain on the v6. Get a 3/4 ton, you'll be happier.

With your truck, power isn't the primary issue when considering a 5th wheel. Your payload is primary factor, and you simply don't have anywhere near enough. Most 3/4 ton diesel trucks that can tow 14,000lbs on the bumper and 17,000lbs on a 5th wheel will definitely know a 5'er is back there. 5'ers are better suited to 3500 diesel duallies.
