Blower motor, actuators, control module, blower fan, or all of the above?

Asked by EnvoyPrincess Feb 17, 2015 at 06:56 PM about the 2004 GMC Envoy 4 Dr SLE 4WD SUV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have to set my blower control on Ultra High in order to get any air blowing from the 2 main dash blowers.  Also, I have to set the temp really, really, high or low if I want serious heat or a/c.  Also, I have noticed in the summer that my temperature control doesn't register the correct outside temp, it's like it gets stuck.  Blower motor, actuators, control module, blower fan, or all of the above?

If the blower motor only works on high it's probably the blower motor resistor. Outside temp is read by a separate temp sensor and has nothing to do with the climate control system.

CamaroCollector: Thanks for the response! It would seem the blower motor resistor is part of the problem...now to figure out the rest.

My resistor harness melted and so did the resistor and wire going into the resistor. I replaced the wiring harness for the resistor and the resistor and now my blower motor isn’t working at all I’m getting power in the wiring harness for the resistor but no power for the harness going to the blower motor
