Asked by Moparrunner Sep 20, 2016 at 12:56 AM about the 2014 RAM 1500 Express Quad Cab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Was talking to a friend about my engine
light it runs fine I always check the gas cap
it will go out and some where down the
road we will say about 100 to 200 miles will
come back on for a couple days he thinks
it could be my brake pads they are the
stock ones with about 17230 miles on
them as far as I know they are originals I'm
second owner I have ebc pads on the way
they do need changed as another friend
had stated and I do drive with a lead foot
so is it possible the pads would set it off

No, Check engine light is not tied to brake shoes. Take it to ur local auto parts store so they can read the code for u, free of charge and take it from there

That's my plan tomorrow to go to auto zone they said it was a brake sensor indicator all 3 brake light worked I had it sent out after and it was gone for 2 weeks there was 3 codes but they cleared them and engine light gone and was gone for about 2 months and just came back on when I left work and now know codes pop up just the light
