How do you know how much oil to add to my 2014 911 Carrera S when the dash tells you you need oil?Does it say "add1 Qt" on the dash read out.Book is confusing!!!!

The difference between the minimum and maximum marks on the segment display is approx. 1.8 quarts (1.7 liters). Easy

I hate cars that have electronic oil level monitors. What the heck was wrong with having a dipstick. Rant over.....

You would not want to add a whole quart, all at once. The read-out should be bars. If you are on the bottom bar (flashing). Add 1/4 of a quart. See where it brings the reading. Then add more if necessary. Remember, when engine oil is hot, it will expand. Not sure if the electronics will calculate such. Heavy traffic driving with high ambient temps, AC running will bring oil temps up.
