535i lock question

Question type: General

Asking for a friend. She swears that the interior lock
button will not unlock the doors if she doesn't have the
key or fob with her, thus locking her inside the car. I am
not with the car, so I can't verify this. Is there some other
way to unlock a 535i from INSIDE the car when the key is
not present?

I guess her husband left her in the car and walked off with it. I'll ask her about door handle. She's saying the unlock button doesn't work if the fob isn't in the car.
