Has anyone (anyone??) actually had their Jeep Cherokee transmission fixed?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

There is a long discussion on here about the serious issues with the transmission in the 2014, 2015 Jeep Cherokee. I wonder if anyone has reported actually getting resolution? I have had everything done to mine, including new TCM and they are about to replace the trans. Does this even work? Any feedback is welcome.

Thanks Tom. Yes, I have also read about many people having the trans replaced, but nobody seems able to say whether this proved to be a long term fix or not. My suspicion is that after a few thousand miles they may experience the same thing. So disappointed because in every other way this is just a great vehicle.

I had my transmission replaced between 5-6K miles, after it completely failed. Sooo it fixed it, in that it now runs. However, it still clunks into the low gear when slowing down at times, sport mode is just awful, and it seems to get confused occasionally as to which gear it needs... Currently unrelated to that, my headlights, when on auto, go on and off at times in the day for no reason (maybe I hit a shadow?). Based on everything I've seen, they all just seem to have a weird shift pattern because of the type of transmission. It seems the clunking into low gears is "norm" and is acceptable to Jeep, since no one can get error codes from it or get it fixed in any way...

Mine was never fixed and after 9 service appointments, another useless FCA rep named jake told me that this was as good as i could ever expect the 2015 trailhawk to be. FCA could not stop the tranny from overheating every time that it went off road so they just told me not to take it off road. Incredible! The thing has all these off road knob controls like low range, sand mode and snow mode but apparently they are just for sales, not actual use. I traded the Lemon for a Subaru Outback and it is far superior both on road and off.

I had the valve body replaced at 100,000-ish, just barely over warranty so they gave me parts and I paid the labor, it was ok up to (now) 175,000 miles, but now there is a leak I have to have looked at next week. I have learned to shift 'manually' around town, seems to work much better, but if you forget to shift up, you end up at 4,000 RPM in a hurry.
