2014 Jeep Cherokee Transmission issues. My jeep has ~11K miles on it and had a software issue that said the transmission needed servicing and locked up the car. The software was updated and then it happened two days later and Jeep is now replacing the full transmission. Do I have any legal course of action since I am assuming this greatly diminishes the car value?

I totally agree with Tom, these Jeeps have tranny problems any way, mine went haywire at 83K, had it redone and modified, so far no more tranny troubles. I am starting to notice that more and more tranny rebuilders are recommending installing a better tranny cooler and bypassing the one in the radiator, they say the radiator coolers are no longer keeping the fluid temps low enough, might be worth looking into. I know I am going too.

Good luck... Purchased a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk, V6, in May of 2014. I filed the Motor Vehicle Defect Notification Form on 7/15/15 after 21 visits to the dealership(s) for repairs to include 2 new transmissions and 2 new emergency braking systems. An appt. was made by Chrysler for today for the final repair attempt, however, we didn't make it to today. 2 days ago, the Jeep once again died and would not move. (at least it was there on time for the appt.) Chrysler Rep. arrived at the dealership today and do you want to guess his resolution??? Yet another transmission.... I am truly at a loss here. Lucky number 3... The 3rd "newly installed transmission" is the charm, Right? (or should we say 4th; taking into consideration the factory installed transmission)

Why would a new transmission diminish your vehicles value? You are having a problem because jeep uses a German transmission. All German car tranny’s blow up, hence your problem. All the best!
