Question type: General

Why does the seat belt ding if I have my seatbelt attached  no one is in the other seat
and the seat has nothing on it.?
I start to drive and it dings as it would if you don't have your seatbelt on but there is no
sign on the dash board that relates to anything no even the seat belt sign

If you have anything sitting in your passenger seat it will set off sensor to seat belt....it took me 2 times to figure out what was doing it

Mine is doing the same thing, but the singing is intermittent, it takes me 45 min to get to work, 2 minutes before I pull in, it started dinging, after a minute, it dinged again, each time it was 4-5 times, the same amount it does when the seatbelts isnt connected. Nothing is in the passenger seat except my purse. I have a 2011 Chevy Equinox LTZ.

I have the same exact problem with my 2013 Chevy Equinox. I found something very interesting that I have never been told by a mechanic from Chevy. the bells ring at intermittent times and no warning lights are on. So, I decided to check fluid levels and found my oil level bone dry. I filled it up and guess what? No more dinging bell! So, check your fluid levels especially the oil. I have learned through the years that the low oil warning light doesn't seem to come on until your engine has blown up.

I have a 2017 Chevy equinox and I just had the oil changed 2 weeks ago. I have been hearing dinging ALOT lately and its driving me crazy. No lights. No indicator what it might be.
