Ethanol Service Due 2014 Chevy Equinox

Asked by Matt Apr 10, 2019 at 12:18 PM about the 2014 Chevrolet Equinox 1LT AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I just had oil changed at a different Chevy Dealership.

The noted on invoice that Ethanol Service Due. Oil getting sucked into air Box
and then to intake where it is burns off in combustion. EPR Service
recommended.

My question is what does that all mean? I mean the service guy did attempt
to explain it but I unfortunately lost my hearing the last 2 weeks.

The oil issue could be from excessive compression blow by or a bad PCV. I have no idea what an ethanol service is. EPR is some engine restore in a can.

You can buy EPR on Amazon and bypass the dealer. I have no idea it it works or if it is snake oil in a can.
