car not starting
Put kids backpack in car, lights came on no problem. 5 minutes later went to
get in car to start it, nothing happened. No sound. After trying to start it off & on
for several hrs lights were also not coming on. Pressed remote key to the press
start, still nothing. Towed to dealership, they charged the battery but found
nothing wrong with the car. They have no idea why car would not start.
With that kind of trouble, the dealer must be filled with idiots too lazy to do their jobs. If they charged the battery and the car ran fine, something had to draw electricity out of the battery without charging it back up. Or the car sat so long, maybe over a week, that all the systems that run when the engine is off drained the battery. But they should have at least suggested this. If this no start persists, I'd look at a defective alternator, and if that's OK, I'd search for a parasitic draw; something defective that draws juice from the battery. If either is the case, find a reliable mechanic.
