Any way to override the MyKey feature without the Admin key?

Asked by May 24, 2017 at 10:59 AM about the 2014 Ford Focus SE

Question type: General

I just bought a rebuilt 2014 ford focus, and it has the MyKey features on it
(won't let me go above 80 or listen to loud music). I was only given one key,
and the guy who sold me the car doesn't have the 'admin' key. What are my
options as far as getting this fixed?

The Ford Dealership is the only place that you can get this resolved. Why would you buy a rebuilt vehicle? That just scares me.

I only buy rebuilt vehicles as personal cars. Saves a lot of money. My rebuilt Malibu has 230k miles and going strong. There's literally no good reason what so ever to not buy a rebuilt vehicle if you plan on keeping the car forever.

Jacob, I made the mistake of buying a rebuilt once, no one wanted on trade or even to buy from me, I made it my everyday rig to go to work as it did run fine but ate tires and it could not be aligned correctly, finally a deer made the final choice for me, I had it crushed after that no one even wanted the running gear.
