Yes you can trade a vehicle on lease and I have done so. I had prepaid part of the lease and had a couple of thousand in equity. Traded a leased 2011 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4 for a leased 2013 Ford F-150 Lariet 4x4. If you do this it will cost you some money.
