Hissing coming through ac vents.

Asked by Jan 21, 2017 at 01:37 AM about the 2000 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It was late at night and pouring rain in Houston. I ran up
on a curb while driving in my 2000 chevy corvette. Speed
was approximately 30-35 mph. I hit the curb on the front
driver side tire. All vital signs are fine. No check engine
light or low tire pressure. However I have hissing coming
through my ac vents when I accelerate and or when I turn
up my ac. Possible solutions? Thank you.

Hissing might indicate a leak of some sort or the AC system is low on refrigerant. You might have bumped a line. Have it the car put on the lift to inspect. If you hit the curb that fast, I'm sure there is other damage than the AC lines, such as suspension, plastic parts, alignment is off, etc.

Flooding in Houston- driving around in a Corvette- what could go wrong?
