Why does my '14 Versa NOte get 39 MPG in town and 34MPG on the road?

Probably just the results of your driving style. If you drive really fast out on the highway the MPG could drop.

Been driving for over 50 yrs. all types and makes...and I've never had a car got lower mpg on the road. I drive at the speed limit maintaining a steady speed.

This car is a weird little eco-box. Be very glad you get 39 mpg city. I am guessing your city driving does not include much idling time at stop lights.
