Could a 2006 Crown Victoria P71 Trans work in a 2008 Crown Victoria p71?

I got a 2008 Crown Victoria with no transmission, and its mostly a parts car,
but I like to drive it around my farm, and kinda like to know what years I could
put in it before I got buy one, (I know might need to get one newer then 2005)
