Brake lights only come on with pedal to floor

Asked by Steve08CVPI Jun 23, 2016 at 06:17 PM about the 2008 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2008 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. My
brake lights only come on with brake pedal to the
floor. Removed inspected, looked ok, and
reinstalled brake switch. Worked properly for 2
brakes then back to same problem. Oddly with car
off and stiff brske pedal, the brakelights activate
with just the very slightest of pressure on the brake
pedal.
