Hard shifting in 2005 cvpi?

Asked by GuruPTQDG Jan 17, 2020 at 08:52 AM about the 2005 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor

Question type: General

I have a 2005 cvpi with 130k miles. Transmission
fluid always looks great...no noticeable
gringing...smoking..smells.  Shifts from park into
all gears well. My issue is, it has a hard thump
when shifting at certain speeds. In town from
lower speeds, it isn't as noticeable or frequent.  On
occasion at higher rpm it really thumps into gear.
Haven't really noticed slipping per say....but I dont
have a tac in the car to really see that. Any
information on this?
