Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2004 Ford Police Interceptor with 91,000 mile on it. Last Sunday At 75 mph going up a small hill in the interstate. the car speed meter stayed at 75 mph. but the trans dropped out of Greer. After I stopped when I put it in the parked Greer it roll I need to put the park brake on. In reverse the speed meter  will go up tp 50 or 75 MPR. It would  go up same way in Drive, first and second . I will not engage and move forward or back.   I was told by a Highway patrolman who stop to help that it  has been a problem from all Ford Police Interceptors and is a simple fix with out replacing the Trans. What Say You???
