My car overheating

I got a 99 crown vic police interceptor with 172000
miles yet driving longer than  a few blocks causes
it too throw smoke and spit antifreeze plus
overheat

Time for an engine rebuild. Have have a leakdown test done, this will tell how bad/worn the engine is. Regards
