97 CVPI Engine Lock up

My motor locked up going to the store it had a
knocking issue prior to that point . I was told it was
my flywheel first crown Vic first big engine I need
answers don't wanna get rid of it

Well Crown Victoria's don't have flywheels, they have flex plates, and they make horrible clanking and popping noises when they break and usually make funny noises when starting the engine, never heard of one knocking, I fear that it is much deeper than just a flex plate, more likely a rod, and if it seized the engine it could have damaged the block, but you won't really know until you get both the transmission inspection cover for the flex plate inspection and the oil pan off for the rod, unless you can see obvious block damage on either side of the engine.

OH and those engines aren't really that big displacement wise, they just take up a lot of space.
