Strange new beeping with no accompanying light indicator

Asked by stfu Jan 05, 2018 at 08:52 PM about the 2014 Nissan Versa Note SV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car suddenly started beeping when I start it, for
twenty seconds. No warning lights are on. It's not
the obvious seatbelt/headlights/door open, etc. It
keeps beeping for several seconds if I turn the car
off while it's beeping. This has never happened
before. It's extremely loud, like a pager from the
90s. Is it a bomb? A carbon monoxide alarm? AM I
GOING TO DIE?

do you have back up sensors? if you do a sensor could be acting up causing the beep.

I don't have backup sensors, but it does kind of sound like ones I've heard in other cars. It just goes on for twenty seconds, even if I shut the car off while it's beeping.

I am having this same issue with my 2015 Nissan versa note. Did you ever figure out why this is happening?

Yes, apparently it's the GPS tag from the dealership.

Check with your finance company. They sometimes put a buzzer in your car that they sound off whenever you are late on a payment or they need you to call them

My 2016 nissan versa note has rapid alarms sounding if I touch anything (the clutch, parking brake, wipers, etc.) and the panic alarm starts up with the changing of gears, opening of doors (from inside and outside), etc. I have to drive with the key fob in my hand to turn the alarm off while I am driving. Any suggestions?

My Nissan Murano 2014 had a beep every 5 minutes whether the car is running or not. Exactly 5 minutes. I checked everything, no indication lights I checked the doors ,seats fluids, gas cap everything. Took it to a dealer. The service mgr said it was not a Nissan beep. Good ears. He came out and handed me a plug in unit from Verizon..called a HUM. 4-5 years ago I had a service provided by Verizon, which did not work and took it back. I/we did not remove this device. I was in the car for 4 years and did nothing, until a month ago. This could happen to any vehicle, not just Nissan. Hats off to SHERLOCK HOLMES at Nissan.
