Talk them down to $5k or as close as you can get, the price really isn't too bad. You can expect to replace the turbo after a while but I wouldn't let that turn you away from it if that's what you want.

Well again, if it's that car that you want and is otherwise in good shape, don't let it hold you back from buying it. They are a great car and are very enjoyable to drive.

200k is a really good amount of miles for these engines. I made it to 211000 miles then threw a rod knock and something with the valves. $2000 ish for a rebuild long block.

If the car has consistently been maintained and you can verify it with service records then I would not hesitate to buy it for the price you want to pay. Any car with that many miles probably is going to need some work. A new turbo is probably $1200 bucks. The engine could need some work. I saw a 12 year old impreza at a dealer that had 300,000 miles on it. The car was in great shape They took it in trade and had on the lot for people to drive. So if they are maintained anything is possible. I have a 2015 WRX. it has 90,000 miles on it. It runs fine no issues. Engine does not burn much oil. I also dont push the over 5000 RMPS much at all.
