Timing belt

Asked by Nahum Mar 28, 2017 at 02:43 PM about the 2003 Subaru Impreza WRX Base

Question type: General

Im trying to put the timing belt back on but the cam
pulleys actually seem stuck after tring to align
them at TDC. Why do they get stuck? Aren't I
supposed to have the engine at TDC in order to
start?

Have you rotated the engine to the point that valves are hitting the pistons? Be very careful or you may end up with bent valves.
