Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2014 ford Escape has blue smoke out of exhaust when started for about 30
seconds, BUT ONLY AFTER IT HAS SIT FOR  10 HOURS OR SO. after it
quits  you can start it and drive it all day and it never smokes again until the
next day. Why can't I get an answer to this problem? Is it a bad turbo, or bad
valve seals, maybe bad rings, out of round cylinders, bad crank  case
ventilation. It needs a new engine is not the answer as to why it smokes.
can some body help?

Does it consume oil? Do you have to add oil between changes? If it smokes, but doesn't use oil I wouldn't lose any sleep worrying about it. My 2004 Marauder sometimes smokes upon startup, but doesn't use any oil.

Mine did exactly the same thing! It was the turbo. Note from dealer During the inspection we found the turbocharger leaking externally and internally into the CAC Tube. This is covered under your powertrain warranty. So no charge to you. We will need to repair this issue first then retest. Since the oil is leaking into the CAC Tube this can cause abnormal smoke from exhaust and abnormal smells
