Radiator fan

Asked by fotohobo Apr 25, 2019 at 11:44 AM about the 1992 Geo Metro 2 Dr LSi Convertible

Question type: General

Just had the cooling fan motor (the fan on the back side of the radiator)
replaced due to overheating and it works great, turning on and off while at
idle. I noticed that the other, bigger fan (the fan on the other side of the
radiator and facing the front of the car) is not running. I had the cooling motor
replaced at a chevy dealership and they supposedly checked everything out
to make sure there were no more problems. I know little about car engines
and need to know if the other fan that is not running is normal. Maybe it just
comes on when the car is extremely hot? I would really appreciate some
answers. Thanks!

Thanks for the advice about turning on the A/C. I turned it on and the bigger fan is working great! Thanks again for your most helpful and appreciated advice!!!!!
