Hi my 2000 Dodge Dakota will not shift from drive to park or reverse!

Asked by SMarquis Dec 08, 2014 at 10:30 PM about the 2000 Dodge Dakota SLT Club Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

A driver for AAA came and told my son that a clip under neath is broken and 'snapped' it
back in so he could drive the truck home. Would any one be able to tell me what the
"clip" is and if this is a simple fix?

Hello. This is common problem for old cars, or cars with high mileage. You have to tight the cable, which is going from your shifter to transmission, or maybe replace it.
