Vine plate doesnt match title vin PLEASE HELP

I traded my car for a 89 dakota. I got
the truck titled and registered and
insured. But 2 months later when i try
to trade it me and the guy realize the
vins dont match. The vin plate is a 87
dakota. I texted the guy i got it.from
and asked him. And he replaced the
whole interior and dash but.forgot to
swap the vins back. He sent the vin
plate through the mail but.i still
havent recieved it. I dont know what
to do. Any help will be appreciative.

it is goanna be up to the person you got the Dakota from to make sure the truck has the proper vin plate he cannot trade a truck that the vin does not match the registration. All you have to do is call your local Department Of Transportation
