1993 geo prizm

Asked by May 17, 2017 at 10:08 AM about the 1993 Geo Prizm 4 Dr STD Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 93 Prizm. Died on me a few days ago while driving. Acted like it just died. Never a spit or a sputter. Juat ahut off and wouldnt start. Strong smell of gas when it happened. So i assumed a fuel issue. Ive replaced the fuel filter checked all the relays and fuses related to fuel. Pulled the pump and tested it. Im getting fuel. Ive gone as far as pulling the line on the fuel rail to make sure the systems clean. And ive got fuel through the whole system. There are no leaks anywhere. But you go to start the car and it juat cranks. It will not fire at all. Is there lack of spark? Bad wire? Distributor? Maybe a bad coil? Im lost at this point.

If your lost then I suggest that you have one of those mobile mechanics come out and check the vehicle, if you don't have the right test equipment to check the system out then don't try, you may burn out something expensive and as it is a 93 it might cost more to fix than it is worth.
