87 firebird wont start

i have an 87 firebird with the 2.8 it runs fine if you jump start it but it will not start on its own any suggestions id appreciate the help

Battery. Need to take the battery to the auto parts store for a load test. Even if your interior lights work and everything else, that doesn't mean your battery still has the cranking amps to start the car.

I agree with possibility of a battery issue. Also make sure all your battery connections are clean and tight.
