Ford Taurus

Asked by Dustin Jan 17, 2020 at 07:41 PM about the 2003 Ford Taurus SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

At a crawl and or slow idle my motor and
transmission are just rocking hard. But just in Drive
no other gears. It's not a miss, bout to change the
transmission filter and fluid. I think it might be
vaccum leak on the back side? What senors and
vaccum lines run along the back side of the
engine?

Is the Service Engine Soon light on? Scan for the trouble codes. You can check or inspect all the rubber vacuum hoses for cracks and leaks if you want. They are associated with the crankcase and intake vent.

I would check your motor and transmission mounts also don't hurt to look especially when you're right there... possible the low speed and high RPM could be from vibration..a broke dog bone mount will raise hell! Don't sound like a sensor..but throttle position sensor and map sensor are a possibility??
